Barclays shuts 61 Old Christchurch Road at 3pm on Friday 4 December and reopens at 2-12 Commercial Road on 14 December. Hours and the week-long gap.

Barclays is moving its Bournemouth branch from 61 Old Christchurch Road to Unit 1, 2-12 Commercial Road, BH2 5LP. The old branch closes at 3pm on Friday 4 December and the new one opens on Monday 14 December, according to Barclays’ own branch page for Bournemouth.

The bank’s notice reads: “This branch will be closed from 3pm on Friday 4 December, and a new branch will open nearby at Unit 1, 2-12 Commercial Road, Bournemouth BH2 5LP on Monday 14 December.”

That leaves the town centre without a Barclays branch for a week, from Saturday 5 December to Saturday 12 December.

Hours until it closes

Barclays lists these hours for 61 Old Christchurch Road, BH1 1DT:

Day Hours
Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm
Saturday 9.30am to 1pm, self-service counter only
Sunday Closed

On the last day, Friday 4 December, the branch shuts at 3pm. Barclays says the Saturday service cannot handle “large cash and coin transactions”. The branch has an outside cash machine that takes deposits.

The branch page does not yet give hours or services for the Commercial Road branch, or say whether the Old Christchurch Road cash machine stays in use after the move.
